Kathy Fears is a trained Orton-Gillingham reading therapist who offers private tutoring in Mounds View, Minnesota. She has successfully helped hundreds of children, teens and adults to overcome their reading and spelling struggles using the Orton-Gillingham method. Kathy conducts workshops throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin for parents and teachers in which she shares the key concepts and techniques of Orton-Gillingham.
In addition, Kathy draws upon her homeschool experience to offer the Peabody Individualized Achievement Test for homeschool children to satisfy the Minnesota annual testing requirement.
As a past president and a founding member of Orton-Gillingham of MN (OGM), an organization that provides teacher training in this powerful method of instruction, Kathy has participated as an instructor during the OGM teacher training sessions offered throughout the year. She is also a past board member of the International Dyslexia Association Upper Midwest Branch (IDA-UMB) where she served as the tutor referral resource, the coordinator for the annual conference, and a supervisor during the OG teacher training courses.
Kathy has a BSEE degree from the University of Minnesota, is married to her college sweetheart, and is the proud and loving parent of three young adults and four beautiful baby grandchildren.
